How to Create Professional Labels with Beautiful Graphics for Free
So you have created the most luxurious herbal products; body cream, a potent blend of detox tea or a healing medicinal salve, and all you have to label those lovely creations is a sticker and a sharpie. Well, that just doesn’t do your herbal creations justice. Those creations were made with some serious time-consuming TLC and they deserve to be dressed in style!

You know you would love to design the most beautiful labels to drape across every jar, bottle and bag of each and every one of your herbal creations, even if they are going nowhere but a kitchen cabinet. I don’t blame you one bit and I am here to show you exactly how to create those beautiful labels for free! I will, however, try to convince you to splurge on some beautiful graphics though, a bit later on.

The above labels were all created with Canva. Canva has become so popular these days and for good reason. You can create anything from labels to brochures to planners to whatever social media platform post is your forte, all with pre-made templates just waiting for you to add your personality to them. I have created professional labels for my herbal creations with the most beautiful graphics pretty easily, and I am not super tech-savvy either.
How to Create Beautiful Labels for Free
Canva is extremely user-friendly and the best part is, Canva can be used for free! Canva does have a paid version which does give you access to more graphics and templates, but if you would prefer to stick with the free version, it should suit you and your herbal creations just fine. You will be able to create the most beautiful & free labels for all of your herbal products & home apothecary.
Canva does have some pretty great graphics for free, however, I did create some of the above labels with graphics that I previously purchased from Creative Market.
I found Creative Market through a YouTube tutorial on how to create products for Etsy. The moment I clicked on the link to head over, I was in awe of how many beautiful graphics there are. I think the first 15 minutes I was browsing, I ended up saving probably 40 different image packages. The images are just so stunning and they literally have anything that head of yours can dream up.
Let me just show you some of the graphics that they have to offer us, herbalists and gardeners.

How to Design Beautiful Labels for your Herbal Products
I honestly didn’t even really know how to narrow down the images, but I tried to provide a bit of variety without taking up this entire post with graphics. When you do head over to browse the graphics, make sure you give yourself a nice chunk of time to use, because you’ll need it!
Creative Market allows you to purchase individual artist’s graphics or you can become a member and save 20% off the list price. I ended up opting for the membership because each month you receive credits that you can redeem for free graphics, which I thought was worth the price. If you click on the member link you can review their different membership prices. I believe I paid $19.95 for a monthly membership. This would most definitely suffice if you are only creating a few different labels for your herbal apothecary.
If you would prefer to not have another monthly bill then you could always just purchase the graphics that you want, when you want them and not have to worry about getting your money’s worth from a membership. Whatever you choose, the graphics are most definitely worth the price, especially if you are selling your herbal creations.
Once you purchase the graphics, you can immediately download them and save them to your drive. The graphics are typically downloaded in a zip folder, so you just need to click on the folder and extract all of them. They are then available for you to use.
Be aware though, if you are going to sell the items that you are creating with the graphics, you must purchase the commercial license rather than the personal one. This will save you from any copyright issues you would face in the future.
Next, you would head on over to Canva and open up a template that you would like to design. You can just type in labels or whatever template you would like to create and Canva provides you with quite an enormous variety of templates to choose from.
Go ahead and upload any or all of the images that you just purchased from Creative Market and have fun designing all of your herbal labels. It becomes kind of addicting when you see how beautiful and professional they turn out. Once you are finished designing, you can print them out on sticker paper and you are ready to dress those herbal creations in their new professional attire!
There are quite a few tutorials on YouTube to help you get started if you are new to Canva. Canva has its own channel, as well, so you can follow along while you design your brand-new masterpieces.
